Hi Guys
Had a drive last night , Car was ok smooth starting , smooth drive, felt a little power down on low rpm on first pickup after cruising speed it is ok, could be it is gone 2 degree advance to 2 degrees retard position at once, any way i am going to replace the contact point with new one with this week end or other week
thanks regards sumith

Hi Guys
Just to inform you that i did a small change this time when fixing them back i don't know whether it has changed my timing , earlier ignition condenser was on top of my distributor plate and top of that contact point was fixed , this time i changed it to reverse i put contact point on distributor plate and fixed the condenser on top of it, it has this kind of condensor
thanks regards sumith

Hi DD
i too thought to replace those points as soon as possible ,this is a temporary fix i made because it was a annoyed to see it stall on low rpm specially on traffic (it was not like that always but suddenly rpm goes down and stall it unexpectedly, sometimes for a day one time only),tonight i will have a little longer trip so i will get to know how it will be
thanks regards sumith

Sounds like the points are bad. When they get badly pitted, cleaning them won't fix it entirely, plus the timing will be off due to incorrect setting. If you can set the points with a dwell meter it will be accurate, but by gap inaccurate,

Hi
I hope i had good timing , i did not pull distributor out, and it was running well with this same timing for about 8000 kms , my problem was that as i have cleaned and re gapped the point it was rotating unevenly to start, as soon as i made it retard it starts on first attempt, i did not have a long run with this setting , when done i will update the status
thanks regards sumith

Hi Guys
i had sudden unstable rpm and sudden stall on low rpm on my b310 and rarely a misfire only at once ,noticed that contact point on it so had some burned marks on it, Sanded them and cleaned them and set gap again and re gaped the spark plugs too, after that started runs poorly it is like starting and stopping again running ,so cleaned all the terminals of battery too, did not work, it starts but 3 to f cranks will take it start, so checked distributor timing it was advanced , set it to zero it was better but not usual so set it to retard then it is fine starting on first turn , looks ok on running is it ok to have it retard ?
thanks regards sumith
