White always looks good, and gold wheels look best on white cars.

Thanks guys.

I'm happy with it, considering it was a sad sight all rusted out when I got it.

1200Rallycar, I think you are spot on with the primer not being sealed.

My plan was to block it all down again, a few small dents/imperfections to fix up before applying some northstar 2K primer and then top coat.

I just wanted it mobile and one general colour.
Register and then I can sort all the small things out.

Anyone got suggestions on finished colour.
I'm thinking, metalic silver or metalic gun metal.
Perhaps gloss white or even a tasteful solid blue

Might paint the trx rims also.
Black or white, depending on body colour chosen

Looks good, but i believe a lot of primers don't seal the metal underneath

therefore, i believe your metal is not protected from moisture!

too much time in just primer and additionally exposing it to weather may lead to all over surface rust

you see it in a lot of cars that have been sand/media blasted and then primed (usually for sale as projects on gumtree or ebay), then the project/paint was never completed. they end up with an all over surface rust as the enitre metal is not protected

Looks like fun little car. I would drive that.

(x) Blackout bonnet
(x) Rod-style side mirrors
(x) Tidy tarpaulin cover
(x) Nissan TRX rims
(x) Brushed aluminum rear window guards

An update for those interested.

Decided to put things back together, with body just in primer.
Hopefully make sure everything is working and running how it should.
Then I might register and drive it or strip and paint.

Anyway, I'll add a few pictures, hoping not to get slammed by the Internet car style police

Cheers

I am running a single 40dcoe on A14 and lynx manifold.
As in my previous post, was looking for approx starting point for jets etc.
Here is a staring point as recommended by Weber Carburetors Owners Workshop Manual by Haynes UK.

The most critical portion is the venturi size. If your carbie doesn't have 33 mm chokes, you can replace them - or change the jetting to match the choke size. Don't use this size main jetting with larger chokes.
Quote:
Datsun A14 - single 40 DCOE 2
Choke size 33
Aux. venturi 4-5
Main jet 1-30
Emulsion tube F11
Air corrector jet 1-80
Idle jet 0-50 F8
Accel. pump jet 0-60
Accel. pump inlet valve with ex. orifice closed
Needle valve 2-00

I cut out and kept a piece off the old rear quarter panels.
I looked at it every time I got sick of body repairs.

Reminded me why I was putting the effort in.. Haha
