Hi Paul, welcome to the club.

Your plans sound solid to me. Yellow is good color choice. Commodore brakes have been done before and are fine as long as done right. Post a piccie we might know the ute history a bit.

The side vents are helpful for cooler days as they help air the cabin when the windows are rolled up. I'd punch the vent holes back in and fit either stock vent covers or stainless ones. I'll start a new thread about it.

Hi guys.
Thanks for adding me.
Im a Toyota guy so it was a surprise to everyone I know when I came home with a 1200 datsun ute.
It's been mocked up with a sr20 and larger tunnel cut in to fit it all.
I've got an s13 half cut sitting there that I'm planning to use in it and was just wondering is there anything I should look at before doing the swap?

So far the mods are:
Larger tunnel cut to fit the sr box
Mounts made for box and engine
VL diff shortened with mini spool
Disc rear still has 4 stud axles though.
Tubbed but not very big only to rails. (Kinda pointless if u ask me)
Engine bay all filled and smooth.
Body is fairly stock besides petrol flap shaved
Side vents shaved. (This I hate. I love the vent)
The dash is stainless flat. (I hate this look also)
Body is free of rust! It's all been replaced or fixed well and is sound in that sense.

Plans:
Fit the SR20det from 180sx
Ale an exhaust mani to fit
Gt3071 turbo
Usual #OOPS# for the motor with stud kit, springs, cams, pistons, rods, bearings, mls gasket and the usual stuff for reliability.
Buy all new bright work and trims.
Repaint it in yellow. (I love yellow)(no I'm not gay)
Fit some seats, possibly Bride carbon low max seats I've got there.
Fab up something with the radiator and cooler so it looks good and fits into factory lines and nothing sticking out.
Fab up something for the fuel tank. It will be on e85 and going to stick with an in tank pump.
Have to get a tail shaft made. Prob the easiest thing though on this build.

Things I'm worried about :
*The braking system!
I really hate bodgy braking systems. Someone has modded commodore brakes to this front and rear.
*The brake master... Or the lack of one.... I'm not sure what to go with here. I'm guessing its going to be room dependant also.
*I'm missing all the glass!
*I'm missing the quarter window pieces! All pieces!

For now these parts are my biggest concern.

Any tips and advice would be much appreciated.
