In USA an SR20DET is only $2000. In AUS it's illegal for street use in a Datsun 1200.
I might go for turbo A12. No need to remove engine or upgrade the internals. And it's only $1200 per Sikyne's formula.

So you would clearly suggest going sr20det? Based on HP pr. $ ? A sr20det cost around 4000$? And then there is the joy of fitting it xD

Sure, many racers have fitted forged parts to the A12. If you are running 8500 in road racing, you need forged. If you are using unusually high turbo boost, you need forged. Forged won't make any more HP, but can make the engine last under extreme output. For a 125hp street motor forged isn't needed.
To get to 77mm, have the bore sonic-checked, because most A12 cannot be bored out that much.
To help you decide, what do you want? * A12 revved to 8500 rpm, with $8000 build: 125 hp * SR20DET revved to 6000 rpm totally stock: 200 hp

Hi everyone :)
Before I start my build I got some uncertainties...
Have anyone rebuild a A12 and put forged internals om Them? H-beams and the 77mm forfra pistions is what I'm hinting ad, as I woulder if I should rebuild the engine in my 120y coupe or if I should do the SR20DET swap.
If rebuild is the way, om thinking about getting the 77mm "big bore" to 1.3L forged H-beams, bigger valves, dubble valve springs and make it EFI. What could I expect from a rebuild like that? Maybe also turbo the thing?
Have anyone done it before?
Need some thoughts on this from experienced pepz :)
Kind regards Toby
