Great power! The sheet says 92 PS, which is 68 kW

38 dgas is an overlooked carb well done its a beast!

Took my modified engine to the same dyno today.
This is the same A14 engine but:

A15 crank
77mm Mazda UC pistons
Camtech cams 621 cam
dual valve springs
nodiz crankfired ignition (wasted spark)
C/R 10.5:1 (from memory, need to check that)
38DGAS Weber carb on std manifold
tubular headers 38mm dia

max PS 92.46@5950 rpm (previously 57.7)
max torque 128.38 at 4500 rpm(previously 98.39)

This is using the supplied curve that came with the ignition, i couldnt get the bluetooth connection to work to fiddle with the curve.

Very pleased with the result.

I used a recurve kit from a chev v8 and even the lightest spring wasnt light enough youl have to get very light spring to get it under 2800rpm.

For that price you rather get a megasquirt 1 better tunability

I'm considering getting one of these, it seems relatively easy to install and gives programmable ignition timing .

According to the Wiki "Recurving the distributor can gain up to 15 HP. Tell your distributor shop to make it all in by 2400 RPM. Then after installation, set the timing to 34 degrees total."

Imo you dont want more total advance but you want a faster advance curve and get it all in alot quicker. The stock a12 dizzy get all timing in at around 4000rpm or a bit more which i think is to high

I recurved mine with all in at around 2800rpm and it goes way better.

Know that you actualy have a dyno you can use try increasing total timing and see if you actualy make more power

Next step, following the A14 tech Wiki instructions, is to look at the ignition and set it to 34 deg Advance..

I'm using 95 octane petrol... i think the head is a H75 would it stand more advance ?

58 horsepower to the wheels is pretty respectable for a near stock A14. My A12GX with ported head and flatslide carbs made 73 whp and I was stoked about that..

I have not Dynoed the current A15 (flat slides, ported GX head, 37/30 valves, Delta 278 cam 11.5-
1 comp & header) but I'm hoping it will be around the 105-110 who mark.

That's also a good price for a dyno run.
