Monroe may have stopped manufacturing them, but there are several Aussie companies advertising them for sale. Hopefully they haven't run out of stock quite yet.

Datsun 1200 struts will only take 38 mm or so inserts. 42 mm inserts are too big to fit inside the 45 mm (Outside Diameter) struts.

Funny that you are inquiring about this, I am also on the hunt for some inserts.
I tried monroe today for the N10 pulsar struts to no avail. they claim that they have no stock, and no longer manufacture them.

I am still not sure if anything will fit mine, as I have the australian assembled 120y PBR struts (no nissan markings on the strut) that appear to be a smaller bore than the Nissan ones.
They measure in at 38.5mm ID.

Either way I am going to chase a few other places tomorrow to see what I can get my hands on.
I'll let you know what I dig up.

yes please. Can you measure the strut rod thread diameter? It probably necks down to 12 mm or 14 mm where it goes into the strut top.

GM commodore shocks will fit into the 51mm struts, 910 bluebird crowd like them (or more precisely the bilstien) as a cheap shock. I have a set of kyb ones I can take son pics of and upload on the weekend if you like dd

You could drill and modify the stock tops to take them and run the shock nylock nut to suit

Yes thanks. I wonder if using a different strut top would let you use them unmodified. Most Datsun-Nissan use same 123mm PCD pattern.

Yes, please, share your part numbers. Alternatives are getting hard to find here in USA, other than finding on eBay occasionally we have to import them.

The factory N10 inserts use M12 nut on 18mm rod. Are the Pedders version larger diameter? The Nissan Competition N10 inserts had 20mm rod but I would guess use the same stepped-down shaft size at the top so they'd fit the standard strut top.
