Sorry, should have been clearer. The ID of the plug is ~13.6mm so the right size for a bosch style injector to fit inside and seal.

So I was thinking about how someone without the ability to weld aluminium might convert their A series to EFI and the result is this:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1513564873 ... geName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT PN:mpf744 1/2 npt

EDIT: ID of the bung is 13.6mm

Idea being you drill/ tap the manifold and screw in a modified bung. You'd also need to make a fuel rail but you can buy the extrusion to fabricate your own. EDIT: After fitting the bung cut the top off and de-bur.

I just checked with a Bosche injector (probably from a 90s commodore) and it fits really well. Just need to carefully drill out the top part of the plug. You might find other 1/2 NPT fittings are also pretty damn close. Now to hoard them in the shed for that later on project....
