if you could buy the trading post paper witch is inposible considering ur in usa and the paper is sold in aus so yer but the paper give better results like the web i found 3 utes in the paper i found 6 3 with A-14 and 3 with A-12

Yeah, that was me. Looks like a container to hold two cars might be about $800 to the US west coast. Although the shipping companies never returned any of their promised quotes ... so I don't know for sure.

"Bog" -- if you mean plastic body filler, we call that Bondo here. I'd be more interesting in a non-rusty car that had mechanical problems. Australia's surrounded by water, so anywhere near the sea is going to have potential rust problems, but you don't have to go too far inland to get away from that.

well i duno what thew weather is like were you are but here the cars still rust but most nothing a grinderr and some bog if you want to use bogbut yer i duno how bad rust is there it can get bad but not really bad in most cases but the nsw trading post the actual paper and it had about4 or 5 1200 utes and all had A-14's or A-15's in them and only one coupe and one sedan i think

Well, I can tell you that they are still reasonably hard to find. A lot of them are owned by old fellas that have had them since new and still putt around in them. Finding them cheap and in good condition is a hard task. When I bought mine, I didn't want to pay a fortune and I also wanted something in origional condition so I didn't have to look after it too much while I gathered the funds to have it fixed up and re-sprayed. Most restored or modified ones will go for around the 6,000 to 8,000 mark. I looked at about 15 different ones, and most of them were bog on wheels!! The one I ended up buying was in origional condition, perfect engine bay and perfect tray. Only thing wrong with it is the sills are rusty, and hopefully they will be easy to fix!

We never got utes here in the states. I've been looking for one for some time too. South America, notably Equador, got them but that is about as close as I have been able to track them. They are still in production in South Africa too.
If you do decide to import, I'd be interested in sharing the container cost to get one for myself. Someone from the Wahington/Oregon area (ddgonzal was it you?) was interested too I seem to recall. There are a few others here in Fort Worth that might be interested too.
I looked into it but was far too lazy to follow through.

I appreciate the help, guys. I'm very new to the Datsun scene and am naiive about a few things. First, there was a guy who had one in my area (New Orleans) back in the mid-'80's and I could swear it was left-hand drive (I could be wrong!). Second, I am willing to consider Australian cars (even though they are RHD) as I am assuming Australia is a dry climate and rust shouldn't be much of a problem. Is that a wrong assumption?
