Yeah that's the blurb. The unmodified competition spring set would be 160lb range.

Datsun Competition Suspension Manual

The original rear springs are replaced with modified Datsun 1200 Competition units, Part Number 55020-H1024. The competition spring assembly contains three leaves held together by a single bolt.

Before installation, both of the competition springs are modified by removing the bolt and discarding the bottom (short) leaf. Then simply bolt thetwo remaining spring leaves back together. This modification will result in a spring rate reduction of approximately 25% from the unaltered competition spring assembly, but an increas of approximately 10% over the stock 1200 assembly.

Stock rate is 109 lbs/in. Add 10% = 120 lbs/in

Many smooth tarmac racers on this site recommend much stiffer springs, to match upgraded stiffer front springs

Dave a note on the spring rate; the I the suspension guide but the comp springs were actually stiffer than quoted. The suspension manual has a note about removing one spring from the pack. I have notes on what the actual. Spring rates are, I'll have to look them up.

the quality looks amazing but the only thing I would change would be the alloy edges making contact on the CH should be tapered smooth with not sharp edges or corners anywhere. If you were to look at any fibre you dont want to clamp anything sharp along its length or anything that could cause a hard spot while its flexing along its length

Flexform just have a generic 'fill in the data' sheet as above. It is a bit of an experiment when producing springs for the first time on a vehicle.
Also depending on the company some fibre glass products would be better quality. Hyperco composite springs in the US look very good but only make springs for Chrysler and Chevrolet.

Dimensions are same for Coupe & Sedan. You should measure your springs to confirm the dimensions listed below. Only "C" is affected by age

A-dimension overall = 1110mm
B-dimension center pin = 19-5/8"?
C-dimension arch height = 2"?
D-dimension chord = 44 3/4"
E-dimension bolt diameter = 11mm? OR front=5/16", back=25/64"
F-dimension width = 50mm
Car weight = 1640 pounds
Axle Percent Rate: 54/46

Spring Rate is custom order, you decide. For comparison:
* Sedan,Coupe (stock): 109 lb/in
* Nissan Competition: 114 lb/in
Flex-form reportedly feels stiffer than same rate in a leaf pack
NOTE: Leaf spring rate doesn't change with age, instead it sags (camber is reduced)

Man those are stiff, but they need to be to match 200 lbs/in front springs. Everyone says they will still be smoother than a multi-leaf pack of the same stiffness

Simon as far as I know you will be the first to actually run them on a 1200!

I would think running anti- tramp bars is advisable for longevity. Yes I'm keen to know how they go, as i said to Simon they are rated 180-200lbs/inch by flexform. Shame I didn't get them on my car.
