Hi

So i called up kyb head office and confirmed the part numbers

Part number: 361005 is a american part number

Part number: 363001 is for australia.

They both share same specs with the outer diameters being 38.1mm so it should fit inside a 45mm strut.

I will update the wiki with the part number to make it easier for people in the future.

I think i have found a part number for vw golf strut inserts for kyb.

From what i can gather the part number used to be kyb 361005 but i called up a auto parts place an that part number dosnt exist.

So i got him to look up a 1975 golf with the 1.6l engine and the part number that came up was kyb 363001

Can anyone confirm if that is the same part just new part number?

It seems available through auto part shops.

My memory is old and foggy but we used

Koni adjustable shocks 8641 1072sport
we cut 30mm out of strut leg and put the King lowered springs on them .
Top it off with camber adjusters and S13 brakes and we have a great front suspension at a reasonable price .

From memory I think I used rear MR2 strut inserts . About 30mm lower and can get them as a Koni adjustable shock.
