Jason,

I've got a jig for making them. I don't have any fancy CAD pictures. The previous fella's suggestion to move mounts 40mm forward sounds close. But if using the engine side mounts and the big Silvia rubber mounts, then You'll be down at the crossmember level. I recommend using Datsun 1600 (510) engine mounts. NOT the standard ones or 180B ones, they are both too tall.

Get the old engine out, go buy some new 1600 engine rubber mounts, and hang the engine in the bay (Where you expect it to end up) and start making templates for the crossmember side of the mounts using "cornflakes packet cardboard". That's how I make up all of my metal prototypes. I eat a lot of cornflakes...Trust me on the mounts thing. I've done this conversion for myself 3 times (Helped another 5 do it since), and using the 510 mounts is the best thing I've done yet.

If you are another of these people who think it's like swapping from an A12 to an A14. Ask Mikali on here just how much it costs, especially when you have to pay someone else to do it. Also ask him how long it takes, and how heartbreaking it is when something goes wrong. Putting a CA18 in your datto means 4 things
1. You are going to learn about wiring a car
2. You are going to learn how emissions control works.
3. You are going to know how to fix an injected car and learn the various electronic idle control systems.
4. You will learn that when you break down, the road side assistance people will first be amazed, then they'll laugh, then they'll call you a tow truck.

Anyway good luck.
Chris.

ps.
1. Grind off the 1200 engine mounts from the crossmember. Put it back in the car.
2. Hoist the engine into the correct place (As far back as possible for Intercooler / radiator clearance)
3. Make up the gearbox crossmember
4. Make up the Crossmember side of the Engine mounts, using the 510 rubber mounts. Using my cornflakes packet method described above.

You can fit a silvia turbo 5 speed gearbox with no tunnel modes except for the moving of the shifter hole.

You have to get a clutch system made up to run hydro clutch.

Custom mounts need to be fabricated for the motor and the gearbox. Engine mounts need to be moved foward 40mm and the the shifter come out just near the end of the seat.

There are guys in brisbane that can do this, almost any shop experienced in engine conversions should have no problems

Why don't you guys fill in your location in your profile??

Why don't you buy one..
Ebay 1200 Ute CA18DET Sydney

There's an unfinished project in Sydney:

I've got no idea what it looks like, or who owns it.

Chris.

Can anyone help me with info required to put a CA18DET into 1200 Ute?
Can the standard box be used without tunnel mods or do i need one of the skyline short boxs?
Can anyone supply pics, info, specifications on fabricating engine mounts?
What sort of Clutch/Accelerator mods are needed?
Any other info is greatly appericated.
