Well where to begin?? Basically anything, l mean anything you change on the car needs to be engineered.
I can hear everyone saying, what about my wheels, my stereo, tint etc. There are some exceptions, outlined on the vicroads website.
Other than that, anything changed needs an engineers report, or you have to be able to prove that it meets the relevant ADR.
In actual fact, you dont need an engineers report. If you are able to provide all the legal documents and prove that every single thing on your car meets the appropriate ADR's then this is all you require.
But, before you go opening word to start typing it, it will be much more difficult to get vic roads approval, and will be inspected much much more thoroughly!!!
So to answer your question, every little thing needs to be engineered. You cant just change the engine and expect him to only check this.. His report is a statement, that not only the parts you've change meet all the ADR's, but the parts that are original on the car continue to meet the ADR's.
The main things they'll check are, the engine mounting system, emissions, powertrain strength and structure and brakes. But this is only the beginning.
Look on the vic roads website, they have a list of signatory engineers, most of which will be more than happy to help you, both now, and during the project.
PS. Sorry for the long reply!!!
