Personnaly i think all Datto drivers cop it from the rest of the driving world at least in my corner of the earth, as was said earlier it's all wrex's lancers and skylines, and if it's not that its a commodore or falcon the y are all the same some groups have an attitude about what they drive but it shouldn't be between minoritys it should all be even field in my mind we are all in it for the same thing restoring modding tweaking and hotting up our machines we are all doing the same thing and they need to realise it

I can see your point. I've also noticed a superiority complex starting to show on some Datto owners..a bit like Fairlady 1600/2000 Roadster drivers..

I think that maybe you need to show that you're into datto's, because there's plenty of people around still, that don't really like what they are driving.

I think picking on them for wanting to call their cars 510s can be mitigated, once you understand that the SSS-1800 exists, then you wish you had a 510 too.. Just like most of us are Sunny-GX5 wannabe owners.. come on..you can't fool me.

I guess it's sparked some conversation so it deserves some merit.

Good idea, but lacking something in the execution. The purpose of every magazine is to make money. Can you make any money only showing Datto's? You might have to charge $20 an issue just to break even.

FWIW, anyone that wants to run with this, I'll supply you with quality magazine features of Datto's for free.

I'm sorry 1200rallycar but I really have to disagree with you on this one!

I drive a 1600 but have owned two 1200 sedans (one of them before I even liked 1600's) which I really loved and wished that I never had to sell. Even now I have plans to keep the 16 but also get a 1200 coupe (when I can afford 2 lots of rego!).

Most 1600 owners I know love 1200's too, and prolly 1/3 of them have owned one or two in the past. Apart from the odd wanker (as you get anywhere else) most 1600 owners I know don't discriminate between models of Datsun, as long as it's a datto then its cool! :D

I know when I am out driving I wave to whatever datto owner - 1000, 1200 or 1600 - or 120y, 180b, 200b etc etc - who looks like they give a #### about their car.

(by the way my ca18t was fitted without a 'kit') ;)

nah man MADDAT motorsport in aussie make ca18DET into 1200 xmembers.
they were working on a gbox xmember last i knew, but as there are so many that get used in 1200s they were deciding which type to make.

1200s rule the roads
1600s are a close second.

im saying in general, i dont agree with that kit thing

ive spoken to 1600 drivers and theyve said "whats a 1200" or ive shown them my car and they dont have a clue that its even datsun

i actually once owned a 1600 (first car i guess you could say), rust bucket given to me that i never got on the road, i do like the car its just the drivers IVE come accross that irritate me with their iggnorance

there is always exceptions and these drivers i met may not even be the majority

The 1600 is a damn fine piece of automotive history. lets make sure we dont blame the car.
There are jerks everywhere. unfortunately some of them pick up a cheap, quick car and dont give a rats what it is. i find this sad.
