The distributor always goes the Negative side of the coil (electronic or points). The POS side of coil either goes directly to IGN + or to a ballast resistor & START bypass wire.

I'm going to assume you have what is referred to as a "matchbox" distributor with the little black box on the side. If so, there are two spade lugs arranged in a "T" and they are labelled on the side of the black box. One is marked "B" and the other is... um, something else, I can never remember. The one marked "B" goes to the "+" side of the coil, and the other goes to the "-" side of the coil.
Of course, you should probably wait for others to reply, just in case I have my head up my ass at the moment!

i just changed the wiring loom on my 1200 cause my original one was to tampered with and there was #### every where. i put a standard loom out of another 1200 that hasnt been played with every thing is now working but hi dont know how to conect my dizzy. i know what wire come out the dizzy and went to the coil but not sure what side of the coil - +? and no idea where the other wire goes, any help please
