Well let me know if you need them. They are nice and polished. And are from a legit car which isn't on anyones books. The just wasn't re-registered. For the Americans reading this, in Australia, you are allowed to own vehicles that aren't registered. When the car gets cut up for parts, you don't need to tell anyone. So as far as they are concerned the car still exists. If the car is involved in a serious crash and is deemed a "write off", then the numbers are put on the "write off" books, and the car cannot be re-registered. This has severely slowed the "rebirthing market", which was a real problem with the '94-2000 model Subaru WRX models. Because of the boy-racer / rich-boy appeal, many of them were involved in accidents. Certain scum would buy the ID/Compliance plates or wreck, from a wrecker, then steal another car of the same model, and switch the numbers..thus the term "rebirthing".

I can send you some compliance plates if you have a problem. They are from a parts car I bought off a teachers family. Quite legit. They are from a '71 4door sedan.
The rego people definitely don't check body numbers against plate serial numbers. If the body is stolen, then you might want to bog over the numbers on the firewall, and punch the numbers from a known good car on the shock tower. I'm happy that my project car, which was bought as a shell, came with matching number compliance plates.

I know in NSW, if it's an old (30+ years) car they just write "pre-compliance". The Datsun theft market would have been much worse in the early 70s if people had known it would have been this easy to register stolen old cars today.

I don't condone car theft, I believe car thieves should be forced to eat an entire Volvo (slowly, in very small pieces) if they get caught stealing cars.
