I've always wondered that.
VW heaters get their heat from the exhaust then do they?

I could never find the hot engine water in a VW I owned, so the heater in that ran of the exhaust I dont know why datsun didnt do the same as they are very efficient.

will the heater still work with extractors installed?

Yes, the heater runs off the coolant hose -- hot engine water.

its geting cold down melbourne way and after two winters i thinks its time to bite the frozen bullet and put a heater back into the ute.
Does anyone have a spare heater for sale?
please contact me other wise i wont be able to peel myself from the car till spring.
(ps, will the heater still work with extractors installed, i think it will?Ive had cars that wouldnt)
