Thanks for all the suggestions! I will check everything out and keep you guys posted. It seems to run like a charm when it is warm so it might just be something small.

I will check the carb, you might be right about having it cleaned and or rebuilt.

As far as plans for the car I am not sure yet. I need to get some bigger tires on it, still has the original wheels with original honey comb hubcaps!! I will post some pictures as soon as I get some digital ones taken. Thanks.

Sounds like you might have a fuel filter blockage. As Ddgonzal said, check your carby float level.

Also, as the car is so old, with so few kms on it, you'll probably find that some water has made it to the carby float bowl, and the carby is now choked up with white powder crap (Aluminum/Zinc Oxide). This is the same symptom suffered by old lawnmowers with alloy carburetors.
I'd pull the carburetor off and clean/rebuild it. If you are careful, you will get away without needing a rebuild kit and new gaskets. But It might be a good idea to buy a rebuild kit anyway. Then the carby will last another 20 years.

Chris.

Look through the site glass on the front of the carburetor. The fuel level should be halfway. If it's low that could be your problem.

But it sounds like a choke problem. See the choke section of Carb adjustment

Hi everyone, I just found this site and think it is awesome. I bought a 1975 Datsun B210 about four years ago from an old lady who was the only owner. There are only 25, 000 original miles on it! I have had it in storage for the past three years and just took it out for the summer. Everything seems to be working fine except she is a little tough to get started in the mornings. It starts pretty much right away but then shuts off like it is not getting enough gas. Maybe the choke is turned down really low or something. Does anybody have any suggestions for fixing the problem or any tricks to getting it started easier??? Thanks in advance for the thoughts.
