This is the range of the A12 stock cam though a more modern grind with more lift should help you get more airflow -- you've already got the ports for high-rpm flow.

Hopefully your double-springs will let you rev close to 7000 rpm (the stock A12 GX double spring were good to 6600). You should be able do it now. A new cam won't let you rev any higher, but should help with a little more power higher up.

The car will primarily be a road car with the very occasional club day at QLD raceway so I don't want something that has nothing under 3000rpm. I guess most of my driving is between 2500 and 5000rpm. I would like to be able to rev it to 6500-7000rpm every now again however.

matty, it depends on how you want to drive your car. If you want to thrash it at high RPM all day, go for top end. If you want to drive it 2-4rpm, let the cam builder know that.

Guys I know nothing about cams so any help on selecting one would be appreciated.

I have an A14 with 32/36 Weber, mild oval port head with double valve springs, extractors and 2" exhaust.

Should I get one for more torque or more top end etc?

I have sent off an email to Tighe Cams and I'll call JTS in the next couple of days but I'd like to hear from you guys re. what has worked and what hasn't.

Thanks Matty
