I think that another diff would be cheaper than the axle/bearing/seals bought seperately, plus you'd have to reassemble it.

If you bought the axle from the wreckers, they'd be selling you an axle from a complete unit, and they'd charge you the cost of almost a complete unit, because they are left with a useless 1 axle housing.

I guess it depends how good the existing diff centre is.

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to replace the axle & seal?

G'day , Ive got a 84 1200 ute with a borgwarner diff , i presume its out of a 120y because the the brakeline dosnt bolt up to the diff and the hand brake braket on the diff is off set slightly. Also the tailshaft has 120y painted on it as though it came out of a wreckers. One of the axels is bent and it blows axle seals so i want to replace it. what diff do i use ???
