Matt , Steve was racing Spec RX-7 which when the class was new made Nascar at Martinsville look tame. Steve spun or got spun and as he is sitting sideways in middle of track a RX-7 comes bombing along - yellow what yellow- sees Steve , slams on the brakes and the sloped cow catcher nose on the RX scopes under the side of his car and over he goes. I think it took Steve months to put a car back together. This same melle took out a immaculte RX-4 one owner car.

can B210 and 210 suspension bits be swapped in
Yes. The back suspension of the 210 (B310) is different however (coil spring rear).

On a differant note ask Steve Coe about being flipped upside down at a Vegas SCCA race. Is he still working for Gurney?

I don't see him anymore, so fill me in. Sounds like it wasn't his fault?
BTW, do you remember Steve's dark green Coupe? Well, he sold it to a long time 1200 racer, Rob Walker, who just got it together a few months ago, and got T-boned in his very first race (or did I already tell you this story?).

Are those NISMO springs still available? And can B210 and 210 suspension bits be swapped in? Just wondering if B210 and 210 after market parts would work in a
1200.

oh and I live on VI, british columbia

You know I do not know what the front spring rate is at the moment . When I bought the entire front suspension from Neeley Motorsport he told me the spring rates for both sets of springs - I probably have it written down somewhere but since the set up works so well I never worried about it. As far as the rear goes the Nissan springs work quite well. Most of the people who have driven or raced the car were delighted as to how well the car worked.
When I sold the car back in 99 I told the guy that the car had to much rebound in the rear shocks and to adjust some out.In the four years the car was away from home , three people raced the car and they all raved about how well the suspension works. Last year when I got the car back and raced it became immediatly apparent no one ever adjusted the rebound. In long bumpy sweepers the rear end would slowly jack down - Too much rebound!!! The car progressively picks up understeer so I guess my buddy who ended up with the car thought it best to leave it. The guy racing the 1200 was a doctor friend of his who turns good times but has wrecked just about every car he has raced except the 1200.
On a differant note ask Steve Coe about being flipped upside down at a Vegas SCCA race. Is he still working for Gurney?

Tom

PS I almost forgot with street tires the rear springs may be a touch to stiff , with the race tires the springs are as stiff as I would go.

Back in 89 Dave Turner gave me the following info for my 1200. He said use the 7/8 front bar and 5/8 rear. For front springs use 240Z rear spring with a coil cut out. rear springs just use lower blocks. Munroe shock / strut insert.
We used this set up for the car the first two years I raced it and it worked pretty well. I have since gone to coil overs front with Eibach springs , 280zx brakes , Nismo rear springs with traction bars and the H145 LSD.
Steve Coe, who used to work for Dave Turner, gave me the same suspension tips. Hey Tom, if you don't mind telling me, what spring rate are you running in the front? and do you find the rear Nissan Comp leafs too stiff for street and some bumpy tracks?

Remeber 1200 only weighs 1500lbs so even the bargain wrecking yard set-up will make it corner fast enough to get you a juicy ticket and scare the hell out of your mates!!!!!

yep b210 swaybar straight in, 3mm thicker than b110, use b310 "u"-mounting bracket rubbers for obvious reason
