i once beat a geo metro (if your not from the states is the crappiest car ever built, inline 3 cyl with damn near 30hp) almost ran a ford feista off the road and i spanked an '89 crx with a 16b running on 3 of 4 cyl. and bad fuel pump... who's impressed?
my car was actually kinda quick before i decided to pull the motor, i have bored it 0.50 over, port match, 3 angle valve job, triple valve springs, supposed to be balaced up to 8k but, im not sure how accurate that is, crank and cam micro-polished, big webber down draft, custom 2.5in stainless headder w/ dump pipe (no muffler), carrara adjustable coils in front, drop leafs in the rear, koni reds at all 4 corners, big nismo sways at both ends 13in panasports (little rusty but hey) on bridgestone track slicks that prob. need replacing.

Hey Craig I dont think its going to happen Bye the time i get my car back on the road how I want it will have to be pretty quick to keep up !!! LOL. Not saying it cant be done its just going to cost a pile of money and a fair bit of time for development.
It will be intersting to see how John Bostons new coupe goes once its together and sorted I think I will have to run some more boost to keep up
cheers Andrew

here's my favourite racing story.in about 1991,was at oran park in my 1200 coupe with the a15,doing a supersprint.i lined up against a friends 1000 coupe, also with an a15 in it,in fact it's the one i bought off him,the red white & blue one.that year was the year of multistarts, where all 4 cars started together & had a little race, instead of 2 or 3 pairs spaced out.so danny in the 1000 & myself are out with a walkinshaw commodore with serious money spent on it,& we trail him around the first lap, seeing how quick he is.coming on to the main straight he expects to dust us,but no,we both keep up with him,& into the braking area at the end,we go past him,one either side, him on the brakes,us still on the power,& leave him for dust.the first thing we get when we get back to the pits is,'what the phuq is in them',then we find out how much he'd spent on the car.gave a real feeling of satisfaction.

i got a tail wind on the freeway on ramp and overtook a p plater girl in a mitsubishi mirage.
Yes, i think she was putting make up on too.

seriously, i almost took a suzki swift gti with my old a12a and dual su's combo, extractors and a 2inch exhaust. lost by 1/4 of a bonnet length but i was impressed.

I have quite a few stories. My best memory was 3 years ago at the speed weekend in Bathurst .
The supersprint starts at the dip down conrod and finishes at the finish line. This would have to be my favourite race as its a drag race of the start 2 cars at a time.
This time I was againts a nice bright red new 300KW GTS comonwhore. The HSV boys where there in numbers polishing this and that. Anyway the little beat up datto (was red then with faded paint) lined up againt this mega dollar beast. I boost it loading it up in 2nd gear 5000rpm then when the flag drops whamo drops the clutch perfect launch It looks like the GTS has been left in my dust and smoke. The look on the guys face when he pulls up after we are done was priceless. I must admit was great for my ego when most of the hsv guys came down to look under the hood :) Just goes to show its dosnt need to be shiny & expensive to mix it with the big guns.
There was also the time I beat a R32 GTR with all the goods at the same event the year after but thats another story.
Andrew
