I picked up some 910 bluebird front struts, so the next step is to grab some 120Y bottom arms?

I noted that the bluebird bottom arms are inclined at the ball joint end, this appears to be to make up for the stub axle to strut angle, can anyone tell me what effect this has on the 1200 camber?

Does the added length of the 120Y arm offset the camber problem?

The bolt spacing at the base of the strut is considerably wider than that of the 1200 strut, do the 120Y bottom ball adaptors bolt on or do I need bluebird ones?

Again thanks for all your help!

i use rotors from an early 80's sentra and have carrera adjustable coil-overs... had to cut out the tower but made it easy to weld in camber/castor plate, i run 13 inch panasports tho... so if you want bigger rotors you gotta have room for bigger rims. Putting brembo/willwood rotors and calipers on a 1200 is like putting 24's on geo. over kill

12ycoupe is wrong the stanza/exa mid 80s disks are 10.5inch (255mm) and the calapers are way bigger than b310 ones.

the aussies rave about the stanza struts because we got a diffrent strut on some stanzas here in australia which are very diffrent to the sunny one, if your not in aus then the struts on all of your stanzas are quite similar if not the same as sunny (b310) struts

I'm not familiar with the Sunny struts, if they fit on the 1200/120Y balljoints, then the benefit is that you keep the same front geometry. And it's a fairly straight forward mod.
But you are limited to the "knowledge" available to put BIG brakes on. Much of the R&D over the years has been put into hotrodding 510s. So being able to use the same struts as a platform for your 1200, gives you much more information to make the right decision for your needs. I think that this is why many of us use the stanza lower arms as the first step.

Matt, if you are on a budget i recommend 1981 b310 coupe struts, cheap and there isnt really much difference between them and stanza struts. also the disks and brake calipers are alot bigger.

They are also very easy to get hold of here in christchurch Matt

If theyre cheaper, easier to get hold of and have bigger brakes what advantage would the stanza struts have over them?

Tappet,
What calipers do you use with the conversion?

the commodore disks fit straight on bluebird struts. personally I used the struts out of an old blubird wagonabout 84model cause I was using the commodore disks. but friends of mine have used some struts out of a series 2 bluebird cause they suppos have bigger brakes (hence they left the bluebird brakes on.) I also removed the original spring mounts and replaced with the fulcrums adj kind. sits nicely. stick a vl insert in the bluebird strut tube. put the vl top assembly on the strut. this will bolt in if you file out the holes slightly. an advantage with using the commodore top assembly is that you can fit whiteline camber \caster adj tops from a vl. Not a bad upgrade.

sorry ive no fancy pics of engines and stuff next to my name.
Im new and Just trying to help.again this setup is Being used in my car so anyone who does not belive
