The only thing that's easy to put in is the same kind of engine as what's already in there. For a Datsun 1200, why not keep the same kind of engine, an A12 or maybe A14 or A15?

i took the exhust manifold and the carbies off last nite and found shards of some kind of metal in the 4th cyclinder intake...feels real bad. Does anybody have any ideas about a CHEAP motor that i can put in relitivly easy? i live in perth. I think i might be able to get my hands on a 75 celica. Engine , gearbox, drive shaft everything. It used to be my old car... How hard to put in?
or how much it SHOULD cost approx to rebuild engine if possible?
