I was thinking of trying window cleaner (Windex, etc).

It a bluish film, causes sort of a glare.

my 1200 has film all over the windshield too. i haven't really looked at it so i dont know what it takes to get it off, do you know?

Not sure. Could be due to the faulty sphincter of the previous owner.

$100 for a new part this large seems like a fair price. But I'll probably look for a less-expensive used one.

I wonder if the new ones have the fume problems all over again -- you know, the film that gets on the windshield. I would think a good used one would already be outgassed. Or is that caused by some other part?

i really dont care where it comes from, preferably somewhere in the midwest so shipping isn't as much, it would be nice to find a used one so its not as expensive. i just need one thats in good condition
