i saw a similar thing called "turbozet" in a magazine and always wondered, so i went to autospeed and searched, they did an article on it and said they were suprised at how similar the fan looked to that of a pc fan, they said its a bunch of crap too, and they even had the TWIN turbo zet not just a single one

been tried, don't work
I have a friend who tried this idea on his 300ZX, the performance gain wasn't worth the brain damage to get it to work. it took him a lot of time to get it dialed in and didn't really give much gain when it was all said and done. I'll try to find a link to his website where you can read all about it.

Ahh yes....the so-called "E-turbo" (electronic turbo). They're selling them on Ebay quite often. I think they are basically crap. You might get a little extra airflow at lower rpms, but when you bring the revs up the engine is going to suck in more than that thing can blow...so it will be a restriction once you get going any and it will suck away horsepower by blocking the airflow and not flowing enough cfm to keep up. A decently set up ram air will out flow and outperform the stupid E-turbo. All you need for that is some flexible dryer tubing and a big funnel...mount it where it can get cold air and you'll push enough cool air in to make a nice difference...and the faster you go, the better it works....not like the E-turbo...the faster you go with that, the less horsepower you get! I've read discussions about these E-turbos on other car forums, and they all thought the same thing....they're crap. Leave them for the 'Ricers!

OKay i read this in one of the latest hot4 mags, i dont know if it is crap but i thought it would be sumthing intresting to post:

CHARGING SNAILS

Built for small engines (1.6 and under), these DC motor-driven turbocharger kits are available through Autojoy Parramattta. The kit can be fittted in about an hour and pumps a small but effective 3psi into your engine runnning via the battery.
at the moment the gains arent great compared to convential turbo, but who knows what the future development could do for the sparked up snail.

has anyone seen this or heard of this?? what do pepole think ?
