Hey Matt,
There was a coupe in Wellington up until a couple of weeks ago with the very same set up in it. The width was ok and it was sitting on the leaf springs. The size of the diff is quite a
bit larger so they'd chopped the rear floor out between the chassis rails. The rear shocks had been hung off a tube which ran between the rear rollcage supports. I'm not sure if the
spring mount had to be shifted but thats not a major for you anyway. Have you got a diff, as the car has just been sold minus the diff I think so it may be agvailable if your'e
interested.

1200 Utes never made it to America, and neither did any type of Nissan Vans, so the H165 rearend is impossible to come by through a junk yard, etc. The only way to get ahold of one of those is
through Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) they sell them for the 1200/210 and they also sell a limited slip setup for it. NISMO's Limited Slip setups cost about a grand which is nowhere near worth
it. I think the best way to go is how others have done it with a Mitsubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest TSi rearend that comes with disc brakes and limited slip. I have seen a lot of these cars in
junk yards here in Washington State, so finding one isn't too hard. You'd have to cut off the old suspension mounts and weld on ones from a 1200 rearend. Another option I've thought about is
trying a Toyota truck rearend from like an 86-95??? I'm not sure if many came with Limited Slip stock (maybe V-6 4x4 models did?) but since Toyota trucks are off-roaded so much and aftermarket
parts are hot items for these, I've seen brand new Limited Slip rearends for sale in Truck magazines for only $500. In the same ads I've seen disc brake setups for these rearends for fairly
cheap too. Toyota trucks use leaf springs, so I don't think it would be too hard to fit one in, you'd have to measure and see if they are too wide (probably) and need to be shortened or not.
Good luck!

Has anybody installed a Toyota AE86 disc rear end into a 1200 Coupe? Did they use the leaf springs or go four link. Any
information would be appreciated.

Regards
Matthew
