turbo chargind the de seems a bit confusing so i think i will stick with it being naturally aspirated and using carbs.

p.s.Are they any alternatives for a sr20 flywheel as mines was an automatic. Does nissan have any 8 bolt flywheels that could work other than the sr20's that would be of a save weight region, as it seems difficult to get a flywheel from here.

thanks.

thanks.

p.s. does anyone know how much HP an early 90's sr20de makes. Is there any sites that can give u the specs for the sr20 engines in the years they were made?

well since the fitting problem is solved.

Do u guys think 200hp could be made from an aspirated sr20.

Also if it is possible, what parts and work must be done.

thanks.

I'm told the gearbox mounts are different and so is the pilot bushing... should be able to make an adapter plate for a RWD tranny and make an acceptable bushing though.

should be fine! I cant imagine Nissan making huge changes to blocks for RWD/FWD.
The block from the GTiR is different however...

I put a FWD CA16 in a 1200 with 45 webers, no real problems except for keeping oil in it. Used a ford box too!

so u are telling me there is no way i could get a fwd sr20 to fit into a rwd sunny

We will have to see on that one....is there any body here that has tried to fit a fwd engine into a rwd car.

What could be so different; the only things i see i will have to do is..
1) use webers as the intake is facing the firewall.

2) Fabricate engine mounts.

3) build a plate to bolt my ford 5 speed box unto

p.s. am i wrong when i mentioned the things i need to fit the engine.

There are a number of people who have webers on SR20DE's in the under 2 litre sports sedan class and have been very successful.
One example is in a Mk1 Ford escort and has 130Kw at the rear wheels. Not bad for old school carbs. It is still very driveable as well.

The jetting is easy. Using 45 webers with 42 chokes, F16 emulsion tubes with 165 or 170 mains and 170 air correctors 55 F2 idles and 45 pumps and you will be somewhere close to the money.
