There is a local bloke here who races a VERY competitive 1200 coupe at Wakefield park etc. It has an injected A15 with the Toyota box & a Dellow kit. He has tried pretty hard, but hasn't managed to break it yet, instead, it just keeps winning. I guess Toyota made some good stuff after all.

Let us know how you go with the 5 speed.
I'm looking at putting one in the ute but not in any real hurry.

speaking of, I am planning to install a celica 5 speed behind the A15 in my 1000 wagon

how much clearance in the tunnel am I gonna need and what will have to be done about the shifter? clutch plate? has anyone done this conversion before? I will probably be using the kit from dellow, 3T gearbox.

12a and 13B housings are the same. the tunnel will need modifying to clear any Mazda box except a vintage 10A 4 speed.

i have a standard 1200 manual trans tunnel. was wondering if a rotary gearbox would fit in the tunnel behind a 13b. are the 12a and 13b belhousings the same meaning the same boxes can be used. looking at a 13b it looks like the gearbox mounts higher than most boxes ive seen. will this mean that ill have to try and mount the engine as low as possible maybe scallop the crossmember or would i be better off using a bigger trans tunnel or some gentle persuasion with mr sledgy.

happy new year everybody
