thats some f**ked up sh** . I hate when cars play up only when you are no where near a mechanics.
A very interesting problem, but yeah check for air leaks etc as previously suggested. Try taking off each vacuum line 1 by 1 and if the engine dosnt chnage idle when you unplug it then it may be suspect for a leak.
Also check coolant and oil to see if they have mixed (stuffed head or head gasket).
when all else fails, take it to
Guthrie motors, Collingwood st Osborne Park and speak to Grant. 94465368.
Ring first as he is usually pretty busy.
Good luck.

Ok, are you mechanical minded at all ?

Vaccum leak ?
Plug gap set wrong ?
Disturbutor loose ?
Fouled up plugs ?

May be something simple mate :)

Oh man, its so annoying because it will drive fine for a few days, then it will deteriorate into this chugging, jumping thing and i can barely get up to 60ks, then maybe one day it will just work fine again, then it will be below average, until it goes #### again and the cycle restarts. I've taken it to the mech. and they just tuned it, cleaned the balast resistor and said, 'well it might be your fuel, use premium unleaded', so now i use bp ultimate and its ok, but alas, the problem has come back. :( and i'm pretty mad because i was just on my way to the mech today and i was half way there when it started to run good! you can just imagine- "theres a problem with my car, i know it seems fine now, but just wait!, it'll do it!"... sorry about the war &peace sized post

I've heard that Automotive Tuning Centre in Welshpool is the place to go, especially if you've got something 'interesting' like a 32/36 DGV or something even more exotic.

What type of car are you talking about here ? Mods ? Standard ?
