nissan engines have a very common problem with the coolant temp sensors failing causing them not to start or run rich, worth a thought. But the ECU usually picks this up

I had an inhibitor switch that was the high resistance connection. With that removed I am back on it. I have spark on first cyl have not had time to check the rest. I will go round with the multimeter tomorrow and test voltages everwhere. The fuel pumps are crankin, they have good charge. I put a mates computer on and it ran a bit better, but mabey that was just luck. It seems to be getting better as more fuel goes thru. It will splutter and sort of run for 5 to 6 seconds now. but it is nasty rough and really rich. I will get round to testing those coil packs, and tracing a few more wires. I have one plug that I poked thru the fire wall ages ago and know it is meant to go somewhere, but cant find its other end! The colours of the 2 wires dont really appear together on the wiring diagram. Confusing but i will chase it down. I think I will get my mate to bring his ca silvia around and I will just compare till I get it right.

Oh yeah the fellas on nissansilvia.com have hooked me up with a workshop manual on CD which is on its way.

thanks fellas
mely

i think the problem was with with the ignition, if you get the wrong positive the voltage droped to give the starter moter more guts,it might be doing the same to the coils too. i think he just put another relay in.

Cheers fellas, I had it right. Still cant get the plugger to talk to me tho. I put another computer on and it made no difference.
What stuff did you blokes have to do, or are you runing aftermarket computers?

Still tracing wires...

Where the fuel pipes bend round the intake plenum, and one ends up straight and the one below it deviates downwards. Well the top one is input and the bottom one comes from the pressure regulator to go back to the fuel tank.
