in vic, no engine number no rego, basically they will take your car off the road and ask heaps of questions, its bad enough my way when your engine numbers dont match up.
1200rc seems to have more leanient officals down his way

I am soooooo glad I live in NZ. I can get away with so much more than my assuie counterparts. We are slowly catching up in terms of certing. but it sounds like our warrant of fittness test is far, far less anal than your roadworthys. I took an old coupe I used to have for a WOF, and the wof man comes back from the drive in it and says,"NO WAY IS THIS THING A 1200, IT GOES WAY TO HARD" and Im like "WHAT, you thrashing may car?" (as if I never did HAHA)
Hes like "I hooked the wrong grar and it took off on me!"(dogleg box) So he starts pawing over the engine bay with a light to try and find the engine number. Despite the blatently welded engine mounts he gave up and gave me a wof!!!!!

Took my ute to the servo on monday for a roadworthy.
It failed because I didn't have an engineers certificate for the mods.
When I lived in Victoria a certificate wasn't required. That's what the fella at the RTA said.
The additional work required to meet the technical standards were,

(1) Get new tare weight
(2) Fit catalytic converter (Shouldn't have told him it runs PULP)
(3) Restricter in fuel inlet for ULP nozzle
(4) Charcoal canister
(5) PVC valve between rocker cover to air filter

The certificate also lists the increase in engine size, non factory gearbox mount, aftermarket steering wheel, upgraded brakes, non factory rims & tyres.

$500 for the certificate.
Not bad for 2 hours work.

I will be at the BBQ down the Cotter this Sunday if anyone wants a look the certificate, and the car too.
