haha love the sunvisor in the avatar "thebuzz", very sleeperesque

dunno what power to expect, mechanic has dyno though just have to fire him up on the idea of strapping it on for me, if he has it properly calibrated now (not long installed)

the mechanic is searching for an exhuast gasket for me and also is gonna clean out the carb to hopefully help with fuel probs, but im thinking it may just need bigger jets

I ended up getting some double steel faced gaskets made up for my FIA head as the available gasket were crap. Cost $100 each but are semi reuseable.

they are diahatsu diesel 1000cc turbos (made by AISIN)

im getting my mechanic to look into a diffrent type of manifold gasket, or maybe seperating exhuast and inlet manifolds, i suspect now after talking to my mechanic that the gasket i have been using is not really suited to extractors and the like

what are other people using for manifold gaskets????

i believe the great debate was that epic of a thread about a whole lotta nothing. something to do with it not working, lots of surging etc.
i'd sure like to see the doubters with their feet in their mouths now, and to refrain from posting about something they have little experience with.

anyway, glad to see how strong it is.
what turbos are they? IHI RHB4's?

Just pull it off enough to put "a little" exhaust putty in the leaking area.

Sounds bodgey, but it'll probably work for 6-12 months. You can save up to do the job properly in the meantime.

After making the Turbo manifold, did you get it heat treated and remachined flat?
You have to do that if you expect it to stay square. I expect that the first few hard runs warped the manifold enough to break the gasket seal.

If you do take the custom exhaust manifold off, run a straight edge over it, I think you'll find it's no longer flat across the mating surface.

maby you could put two gaskets in there instead of one, or get a real good quality one.
As for the boost if you put the adjustable pushrods on the actuators in you should be able to screw them out (make the rods longer) and that will drop the boost
