Next thing we'll be ordering kits off you, rallycar to run in our own cars!! Now heres a big question, in Improved Production Racing, you have to run a restrictor (I think 30 or 35mm) before the turbo if the system is anything non-factory. I wonder if having a TT setup that would mean running twin inlets letting you run twin restrictors??? Datman55 might you know?

you can disassemble the reg and check it out. did you supply it with a boost signal?

righto then

um i have a 14psi pump which im still using (holley black) it seemed as thought he reg was not increasing pressure (second hand reg), at idle it was always around 7psi outlet, unless i screwed the screw in all the way at which point it jumped to 16psi, so i pressume it is stuffed?

the pressure gauge was in the engine bay so i wasnt sure it was ramping up pressure with boost, it seems not as it runs better with the new system which just uses a hobs pressure switch to give full pressure when boost comes on at all

Yeah like dattodevil said definately supply the bowl with a boost signal otherwise boost will prevent fuel from leaving the bowl.
Do that first before you drive it again otherwise before long the engine will be back out for the fried rings to be swapped for new ones.

What pump did you run with the malpassi reg and what pressure did you run at idle and did the pressure increase with boost? Is the malpassi reg new or used? Just curious as if the reg is used and pressure didnt increase maybe the spring inside is rusted and seized.

I am also curious about this oil pressure as I have never had a problem with any but I to have never taken notice probly because it is a light and not a guage. But all the talk in the last few months about oil pressure and flow has got me thinking.

yes, you will have to equaliise the pressure so do hook up the bowl to pressure (as long as it is blow through)

i havent looked at oil pressure, i just have the stock "warning light" as an indicator, nobody has mentioned it as being a problem before so i wasnt to worried, i will hook up a gauge to monitor it now... will let you know

i went back to the old fuel system that i used to use instead of the rising rate regulator and it has eliminated 90% of my problems, so i am quite happy, went for a bit of a drift in the rain last night, turned it around about a million times, was too sliperry, going out again tonight and its pretty much dry so hopefully will have more of a chance of keeping it pointing the right way

as soon as it hits boost in upto 3rd gear (in the wet) it just starts lighting up the one wheel, quite scary mid corner when not really concentrating on driving

i dont think it's as quick as i expected but i havent measured it against anything yet, hopefully get a chance to run a couple of the boys tonight and see how i go, im still not getting upto high revs though, i suspect bigger jets are required

also would i need to hook the breather for the fuel bowl upto boost? would this help?, as is currently to atmosphere

it's making upto 10psi boost with the change in fuel system , thats the other thing, it may be cutting at high revs as it is trying to make more boost but my 14psi fuel pump is not strong enough, i shall put a leak in the system to limit boost and then see what happens...

I was wondering, that how much you have oil pressure in your motor, becauce I have had broblems with the oil pressure eaven with the one turbo, turbo drops oil pressure 1bar from the normal. Now I have 1bar oil pressure when the engine is hot and it is running 800rpm.

i tell ya what, im not just picking on the anti-twin-turbo clan but am being serious when i say how smooth it is, i was shocked really its like driving a new car!

Thats what i was refering to when i asked for your observations in relation to issues raised in the "great debate"

Good on you. I'm glad that i didn't add to the debate as i think that even your earliest experiences would have put egg on my face. I thought that one exhaust pulse per-turbo, per-crankshaft-revolution might be a problem,..per-haps.
I'm glad it seems to be working out.
