I think that coil bind would be the eventual limiting factor.

Thanks for the effort Dodge its good to see the passion for dattos and 1ks you have. It makes our life easier when thinking of options for our much loved budget hobbies.

Another RR set is made in the US but cant remember their name. However its for those who can afford it or are on that side of the datto world.

Q: Isnt it possible to run 1.7 or 1.8 ratio as they do in some chevies or Dodge chryslers?
Or is the geometry of the A limiting?

Chris, maybe you should keep your personal comments about peoples nickname to your self and none of these words would have been writen. I'm curious as to what work you do, yesterday was my first day off in 36 days and i no what you mean when you say a eight hour day would be a blessing. One must remember the words of Mark Twain, "The pen is mightier than the sword"
I know i some times forget. Appolagies for transfering my stress through my fingers onto the keyboard. Gary

Thanks for your kind words. The "nickname" is "Dodgeman", but you can call me Chris if you like.
I have been working away in Victoria for almost a month, so i have not had the opportunity to reply untill now. If i had twenty five blokes to do my work for me, i'm sure i would feel a lot less under pressure. To date, i have worked the last 28 days straight without a break, & i don't look like getting a day off for another six days, & an eight hour day is as good as a holliday for me right now. The phone calls took up about 15 minutes of my time & i'm sorry that you feel offended when i didn't do a half arse job of it like you.

As for the price, i have only repeated what was quoted to me, for this i get sh## from you. What's your problem?
The correction in the ratio was made by the fellow at Yella Terra, & he was at pains to ensure that i fully grasped what he was saying. I passed it along to correct an apparent error that this fellow obviously thought was important to correct.

If you had thought to ask the right questions, you may well have saved yourself $68.75 [Au] which would have paid for the freight & still given you some change, none the less, as the supervisor of an obviously big budget project, perhaps this kind of saving is of no importance to you,... but it is to me.

Think kindly of me on your next day off while you are enjoying your relaxation, your family, & your toys, & don't cry bleeding heart to me about your lack of time & your workload, I'l probably be still at work, in the cold, the wet & the dark, saving to pay for my car.

Lemonhead, no need to bash other club members.

By the way, the difference between 1.55 and 1.64 rocker ratios is substantial (5%). Doesn't mean they're always better, but might be for some applications.

Well Dodgeman (or is this "Dodgy"man) I'm glad you have had time to do your homework on this subject, I'm glad you have crossed all of you T's and dotted all of your i's.Take full marks, I personally don't have time to write such long and informative threads as you and be as anal as you have been eg. 1.64-1.65 rocker ratio, $834.95-$835 REALLY!!! who really gives a #### about .1 rocker ratio and 5 cents these days, if I had not have been in charge of twenty five blokes on a $13,000,000 factory installation i would have posted a more informative reply today.
Anyway I have happily placed my order with Yella Terra today and eagerly await the delivery of my roller rockers in 3-4 weeks.
Dattoman_1000 i will follow up on Crow pushrods they might be a better choice of pushrod, the ones on your website (which i might add is not crap) look like good units.

I also rang Yella Terra [03 9555 5522] & they advised that the 1.64 to 1 [not 1.65] ratio rockers were NLA, but would be available if i ordered 10 sets.
I too was quoted $834.95 tax paid, FOB at factory, but i was also advised that there was a price war between Rocket Industries in Sydney & a well known [but unrecalled] Melbourne outlet

I rang Rocket [02 8825 1900] & spoke to Nicholas, who said that the rocker kit was not a stocked item,[surprise] but he would get back to me,
He did. He quoted me $766.20, tax paid, FOB Sydney.
To this we must add any freight charges to send it to the customers home, plus a set of custom pushrods. [$220 seems a lot for eight pushrods, thats $27.50 each]

Perfectune Engineering / Yella Terra no longer make the pushrods & they sold all the manufacturing tooling to "Head Stud Development" in Melbourne, so either this company, or "Crow Cams" would be the source of the custom pushrods as they would need to be diferent lengths for the A10, A12, & A14/15 blocks.

So what are we up for. If you get any change from $1000 [Australian], you're laughing. For this you get.....

1 set of custom made pushrods, from the supplier of your choice.

I roller rocker kit, comprising, High strength alloy rocker arms that are claimed to be as much as 5 times the strength of stockers.
They have needle rollers for the main pivot, plus a roller tip.
The shaft is hardened for the rollers & is of a larger diameter than stock, which is why they provide the stands as well.
Oiling is provided in the normal way, but oil is fed to the individual rockers from the top of the shaft so that it will run down & lube ALL of the needles.

The adjusting screw is of a cup type which is the reason for the custom pushrods. I suspect that the screws are possibly Chevy ones as they are the most popular type of roller rocker that they make & using these screws saves a dollar in manufacture.

Only the 1.55 to 1 ratio is available, & even these would need to be made to customer order. If they can make 1.55 to 1 to order, then why not 1.64 to 1's?
Perhaps i will ring tomorrow & ask.

Google the name Yella Terra.
This will get you their website. Once you are in, check it all out. There is a list of agents, & when you select USA, it should give you a list of the US agents.
