Hand, seeing as your located in southern tas why not join TasDat. I was at some of the first meetings but I work on Sundays when they have get togethers so have lost touch. Some of my mates still catch up with them. If you like I can try and get you a contact number if its still in my phone, I think he is the club president, Gavin. Pretty laid back club, all about socialising and sharing stories. Mostly young guys like me. As I said I havent caught up for ages so not sure where the club is at but I know it is still running.

Yep, don't be shy, Just turn up have a beer and talk datsuns. Its a very friendly bunch of blokes, with some exceptionally nice cars.

The Datsun club meeting is a bit like a Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. People sit around in a circle and talk about what they are up to, what changes they've made with their cars, and what new events are on the horizon.

Everyone knows everyones projects, and discuss parts needs and stuff. It can be very Datsun 1600 (510) related, but you aren't treated like a lepar if you talk about other Dattos.

You just turn up, The membership is $30 or $40/year to cover costs. You get a newsletter and stuff. And it keeps things running and helps pay for small things for club runs etc.

Turn up in clean clothes, like you would to go to an RSL. As it's a Golf Clubhouse, they have certain minimum dress rules, but it's not that struct. Jeans are fine.
