Bluebird struts can be fitted. You need to use B310 steering arms on the bottom of the struts. You will need to have a ring machined to key the sunny steering arms to the bluebird struts. There may also be some minor massageing of the strut compartments to clear the spring cups.

The Stanza struts will have disk brakes on them. The Stanza is a bigger, heavier car, so the brakes from these will be a very real upgrade for a 1200 ute.
These struts are not all that hard to find & not too expensive, but if you are short on $$$ then ask around to see who has some leftover struts from their 1200 coupe after their own upgrade.
These don't have the appeal of the bigger setups, but they do work well, & should be very affordable. Since you will not have a licence for about three years, & will be speed limited for a while longer, this setup should serve you well unrill you can afford something bigger.

This is what i used in my ute, & it worked for me

thanks for the advise!.... yeh ide like to use stanza strutrs but i just really want the dissc brake conversion... im not sure how easy it is to get the disc brake stanza struts?

If you have a five speed, or Auto wagon, then the diferential [the middle bit] should be a H165, with a 3.9 to 1 ratio. This will be good in the ute.

I believe that the use of bluebird struts is not a popular conversion due to the difficulty involved. Much better seem to be the Stanza, 180B & 200B struts. Im' sure there is a technical article on it somewhere.

I also believe that the L18 engine & the 180B crossmember are the go. Once again, i believe that there is a technical article on it in here. Use the search bar, or just cruise the site, & when you find the relevant item, read it several times. That way you can avoid making mistakes that have been done by others.
There seems to be little that you can really use from the Bluebird, & try to avoid using parts, just because you have them. Use the right parts & everything will work out well.

It'll be fine behind a L20B. The H165 held up behind my CA18DET >100kW at the wheels. More than a lightly worked L20B will do (excluding highly worked L20Bs)

The struts might go in with stanza lower arms..but not a common conversion.

Resetting and extra leaf, sure.

thanx D man ... u D man yeh its a wagon, not sedan... i was just seein what i could get out of it....will a worked L20b with twin webbers hold up with thre H165 diff? how much screwin around will it take to put the struts in ? will the springs just need reseting?

OK woody, the whole rear axle assembly from the series 3 Bluebird is not really a good idea because of the width. If the rear end is from a sedan, then it has a totally diferent type of suspension, & removing all of the extra suspension bits, neatly, is more work than i want to do.
The diff is the thing in the middle

The series 3 gearbox is quite a bit longer than the 1200 box & it will require the removal of the original gearbox mounting brackets, & the fabrication of a new mount, further back. This is one reason why the stumpy gearbox is prefered for these swaps.

The series 3 car used a CA20 engine, with it's own bell housing bolt pattern while the L series had a completely diferent pattern. The gearbox itself is the same, but the bellhousings are diferent, so they will not bolt together.

What's the obsession with the H190 diff?

The original H165 will handle just about anything that you would be fitting into this car in the forseeable future. The H165 is available in a fairly wide range of ratio's, they are reasonably common, & are reasonably cheap to buy. The 3.9 to 1 ratio from Bluebirds & Stanzas is likely to be the best bet for road use.

While i think of it, from memory, the series 1 & 2 Bluebird wagon with four speed manual trans were the ones that got the H190 diff. All others in these two models got the H165 diff. I have no info whatsoever on the series # car, but i expect them to be the same.

This correctly sized, original rear end will also offer you a wider range of choices when it comes to wheel selection, so unless you are racing,... the H190 rear axle is likely to be far more drama than it's worth.
You may have noticed that Bluebird rear end swaps are not high on the agenda for 1200 owners. There's a good reason for that.

It sounds like you are clutching at straws here by trying to fit whatever it is that you have, or can get cheaply. It's far better to think about what is right for the job, then save up, & get it.

Think twice, or in your case, thrice, [under advisement] then act once

yeh i rang the dude up again to check, he said everythin is there but argh i dunno.. i reckon i will just through everythin back on .... she'll be right but i still wana no how hard it is to get the H190 to fit?

You should measure from drum to drum to get the best measurement, but i think if you used front wheel drive offset wheels you may get away with it but measure before you do.....
