I think he is shoehorning something big in the 510 where the right bank is ahead of the left. But then his E-mail site has a header in the way.

If you want to convert a 510 to right drive, then i wish you well, but i am still trying to figure why. [you forgot to mention that] If you were to seek out an original right drive car, then i can see that as being a truly worthwhile persuit as it would be the genuine article & it would have some real value, but to convert a left drive car, well, it's your car, & again, i wish you well.

As others have writen, you may well have more success with some of the 510 dedicated sites. Most of us here have the smaller siblings of the Px10 series of Datsuns.

Longbeach510, you're barking up the wrong tree ... here on this site you can expect to find expertise on Datsun B110 (1200), but for your 510 please try one of the many Datsun 510 web sites. If you want to know what we've discussed (been there, done that) about LHD-to-RHD Datsun 1200 conversion, search for it: search.

Guys, is Ozdat an appropriate forum for Longbeach510's question? http://www.ozdat.com/

big effort for such a little return?Maybe for you it'll be a little return..

ive done a conversion on a corolla ae86. much More different then what it seems on a 510.

510s look so empty and looks very very easy to work with.thats why im willing to do it. i honestly dont care about extending wires and changing brake lines. BEEN THERE DONE THAT.

i just was told i can get my info from this place.

i want to do the conversion.
im thinking the MAIN thing is a steering rack.. thats all i care about. any one know where i can get one? or can anyone get me a RHD steering rack. I'll pay $$$

i alreaddy have lines and extended wires and what not.i have the tools and the power to proceed.

let me know if anyone knows people with RHD parts and stuff.
my email is

Yeah. It won't be easy.

You'd need to find a rusty RHD bomb, and work from there.

steering, dash, instruments, firewall, brakelines, wiring extensions, or the underdash/engine bay looms from a RHD.

Quite a bit of parts and work really. You would need to be a hardened Aussie, who can't drive a LHD car well enough, to want to start this conversion. I still have trouble driving a LHD Manual in race conditions.

We have some guys down south in Mildura/Canberra who import LHD 510 2door sedans and have done a few conversions, these fellas would be throwing out the very parts you need.

Fire the question at www.ozdat.com forums.

Chris

Just out of curiosity, but why do you want to spend time, effort & money to do this converaion? It seems like a big effort for what seems to be a small return.
