it all comes down to the offset of the wheel... i have 195/50's on my 15X6 inch wheels and have about 25mm clearance from the leaf spring... could fit 205's easily but any bigger and i will be getting close to the wheel arch as it sits pretty low...

the 15x6 is height and width, so the 6 is the width, it means you have 6 inch wide wheels

thats really strange, do you own a ute? maybe its different. The 205s i tried were well "squished" for lack of a better term into the rear leaf. when they say 15x6 what does the 6 relate to anyway?

i just bought some 16 x 6.5 inch rims with 205/40's and they fit on the rear fine, there about 1cm away from the leaf springs, but they fit. only problem is that they wont fit on the front struts( which are stock) but ill soon rectify that problem

Damn shame 'bout that! all the imports have different off-sets to fit on a 1200,
when i bought my coupe, it came with some nice alloys(14's), but the problem is, when i put stanza front struts in it the wheels offset was wrong, so i had to put a set of 'old skool' mags on it(13's).
One of my mates put some TRX(15's) mags on his coupe and he found that going up certain driveways it would scrub so much that if he wasn't carfull he would actually get stuck, and have great difficulty trying to get un-stuck.
As for the biggest wheels.........................
I'm damn sure i've seen a picture on this site some where of a ute that had 18's, but i could be wrong, i've known to be wrong from time to time.

my mate got some 17" rims for his 180sx so I decided id try his stock ones on my ute. the stud pattern is the same so the bolt up and the rim size (15") wont be a problem but the width of the tyre is a problem. On the rear it comes in to contact with the leaf spring. i think i used to have 185/60/14s on my old ute and im pretty sure they make a 195/60/15 but will i still have the same problem? whats the biggest anyone has on their ute? the stock 180sx rims are a 15x6 with 205/??/15 rubber. will these size tyres even fit on the rims?
