Ok so i reckon I'd be better off getting an old L18 or L20B (its only for a bushbasher) And I'm getting the car for $50 with perfect body and interior. Also has new battery and tyres... gotta be worth something.

you should be able to score a good running used engine for less than the cost of the parts.
Why shag around with a bluey?

rings will be shot. bearings will need replacing. bores may be "ovalled" - hence it seized. pistons will be near dead. head may be warped / cracked.

If it has been that hot the odds will be against you. Its not a good idea to re use those pistons & check the head right out cos it has probably gon soft. It would be a better idea to get another engine and rebuild that. If you can turn it over i probably wont have much compression anyway

Hi all,
I'm buying a '84 bluebird today with a 'seized' L20B, I know it was out of water, but havnt had the chance to try and turn it over. What are the odds of it freeing up and running again, and if it doesnt, what should I expect to pay for parts? Would I only need new rings and bearings?
Thanks,
-Tyrie
