na dont bother with the chook cookers...they belong in mazdas.
A series at full noise with twin carbs would kill the rotissary anyday for looks, longevity, and that sound.....

i'm with dazzasute, throw the a series in to get you around. then you can sell the old school 12a carby motor and save your pennies for a nice 13b injected turbs... since you've modified your car to accept it already. just how much was the ol' 12a anyhoo?

fair enough that you don't wanna give up just yet with the rotor, but why not just go back to stock until you can find another???

if your so keen on entering datnats, u could just tow the ute up, and then u can still go in the show and shine and things where the car doesnt need to go.

I have never seen a rotary that hasnt been thrashed to within an inch of its life, you may have given it a bit of this treatment yourself, I know I always did.

,after wasting $10,000 I came back to piston engines because I couldnt afford it any longer.

This is true as can be.
I sold my rx3 coupe after replacing one engine.
I can build a fun datsun for the cost of building just the engine for a rotary car. Plus far less headaches with car theives and being hassled by the Filth.

Good idea, try this link fs: a14 + various parts

There should be enough gear there to get you back on the straight and narrow. . .

why not try and get an a12 or something, with a standard cross member, whack it in, and get there in that??? At least you'll still be taking your own car.
