Put simply, the 120Y was sold here in Australia as a regular model, & they sold reasonably well, however, the 1200 two door was not sold here by Datsun at all. The few examples that do exist were private imports, so there really is no comparison.

I saw a 1600 2door last night and it was one of the straightest old cars i've ever seen.

Not that rare. I bought 1 about 5 years ago as a roll over for the engine and 'box. A mate of mine had one for a few years. There is one down the road from me in stock (not mint) condition. I was almost going to offer ca$h for it, but after a good look at it decided that the body shape wasn't quite right, even if you dropped it and filled the guards it still looks wrong from some angles. I would really like to collect the whole set but with 5 other projects on the go I have decided to pass it up for now.

Hey I know who owns this. He lives like 2mins from me. Ive known him for years. He bought this because he was poor from owning so many V8's which he bought on loans. Good bloke. Nice example of a "why" Much better looking then some of them. He bought it off a panel beater who had it is a project car. He only paid a little over $1000 too.
