I think that car is a South African market car, SA got a lot of odd cars that were assembed there. I have seen a few 4 cylinder Datsun models that were factory fitted with 6 cylinder L series as well. With the politcal sanctions lifted off South Africa, more of these cars are coming to light. It is probably more rare than a JDM Excellent.

You could of course follow your own advice.

The difference between GX and others depends on the year. GX was the highest/best trim level.

All the Excellent models had L-series engines.

Details: PB210 Excellent Series
PB110 Excellent Series

what country do you live in? please update your profile so that we can know where you are.

I'm guessing higher compression and dual SU style carbs.

Where is this car? if it is in Australia I'd DEFINITELY be interested in aqiring it! but seriously, a nice find, finding replacement front panels might be a little difficult though! even if you hace to use standard 120Y panels in it's rebuild it's still a keeper for sure...
