with the 200b discs & calipers, there are two sizes, the earlier ones are 10 inch, while the later ones are the same size as the stanza & the calipers are the same.the changeover is roughly the middle of 1978.you can also fit 11 inch mitsubishi verada discs & commodore calipers, this should all be mentioned under the brake section in the tech files.as for the diff, lsds are available, but are very expensive, while the spring loaded locker is controversial, because some people swear by it,while others swear at it.

Quote: so is there any mods i can do to the ute diff so that i can "bag up" both tyres CIG locker Quote: can the stanza struts be further modified, like fitting larger calipers and disks I've read that 200B rotors are one inch larger and bolt up, not sure what, if anything, has to be modified.

i was only gon to turbocharge my a12 so maybe the r31 diff is a bit to much, so is there any mods i can do to the ute diff so that i can "bag up" both tyres
how much shorter does the r31 diff need to be, is that so that it will fit inside the guards
can the stanza struts be further modified, like fitting larger calipers and disks

R31 diffs are the same as a VL turbo, which in the executive, are just an open wheeler. The LSD in the VL's only came with the calais, which are pretty hard to come across. The R31 diff is pretty strong, and low1000 is right they do need shortening and unless your using something pretty powerful i wouldn't bother, cause it's a bit of a stuff around...

r31 diffs are tough and probably a bit over the top unless your goin for an aftermarket injected turbo engine ie. CA, SR or 4AGZE (TE). they do have the same stud pattern as a 1200 (4 x 114.3) but are too wide and need to be shortened. LSD wise only the sillouettes and GTS 1 and 2 vairents of the r31 came LSD. I'm not sure but i've heard VL commo and mabye VN Lsd's fit straight in but dont take my word for it....mabye someone else can confirm this. Elliott

stanza struts can be used in 1200's with the right combination of components..
both round and square healight models can be used... the 1980+ square headlight model has large girlock calipers.. the earlier round headlight model has smaller calipers with tiny pad surface area and arent really worth using..
R31 diff has been used before but requires shortening
hope this helps

what is the compatability of the r31 skyline diff with a 1200 ute?
i came across the r31 diff today at the wreakers and i found out that the it has the same stud pattern as the a series pulsar, which id say would be the same as the 1200
the diff has 3 point linkage, disk brakes, sway bar an i think it has a lsd center
also came across a stanza with the same stud pattern but im not sure weather the front struts are comptable with the 1200 as i recall somebody saying that there are 2 types, the stanzas with the round headlights and the rectangle headlights
