Well the only time I have the problem is when there is load in the car like a passenger in the front seat. When I'm driving alone I don't get the problem. Can the shocks be changed or is is a sealed unit?

If your tyres are rubbing badly on the fenders , that is a sign that the wheels you have are the wrong offset for the car , I dont think changing anything to do with springs or shocks will fix that problem.

Maybe lipping the guards will help.

Ok thanks, but if its the shock, can it be repaired? Can the seals be replaced and filled back with oil? If not what is a good choice of shocks that will fit this car? Shall I buy back oil shocks or gas shocks or get one that has both air and liqiid?

Sounds like your shocks are dead and responding quite badly, you'll never really know how shagged they actually are until you rip them out... Its not a hard exercise and its a huge benfit to fit new springs and shocks. I fitted new shocks springs all round for under 470 odd bux and its much stiffer & works really well.

The hydraulic shocks in the Datsuns dont last as long as they say, the fluid starts to leak, and wear & tear starts to set in.. Its no point replacing them with other hydraulic ones from another Datto but buying aftermarket ones would be better.

If you dont want to do this, you could take it to your local suspension place and they'd do a 28 point suspension check for under $20 and that would diagnose the problem, probably the best thing for your cause

Ok but how will I know if its the spring that has gone bad, what if its the shocks, how can I check the both to determine which one needs changing? Or is it that the suspension is good and I just need to change the front tires and put lower profiles like say 60 series?

skyline or ciffero springs wont work

totaly different

there are two easy higher rate springs

sunny is a little harder not a lot

stanza is quite a bit harder

these should just fit directly to your struts and are available at wreakers

I need some help with my front suspension. I have a datsun 120Y B210 and the front suspension is just to soft. I changed it to some newer ones I bought and its still to soft. I'm not sure if thats how the suspension is originally but its really a problem for me especially when I have load in the car. I have 175-75-13's tires in the front and when I go into a pot hole or turn the wheel at a corner the tires rub badly on the fender and even bends it outwards. I don't think that the shocks are dead, but when I bounce the front of the car its just to soft. How can I eliminate this problem? A local mechanic told me to change the front springs and put some stiffer ones, he told me that R32 Skyline or Cefiro front springs should work. Could anyone give me some more light on this situation and what to do? Thanks.
