Hi i know nothing on the 4N71 and cant find any info on it ,,what vechicle did it come out of ,,my thoughts are that it would be to big in size and very heavey ,, ive been told by a couple of tranny repair shops that the jatco 3n71b is bullet prove and have been used in big horse power engines with no problems

What, if anything, do you know about the 4N71 series of trans?
Do they share anything in common with the three speed & are they small enough to use in a small Datsun.
A four speed auto with improved A15 would make a very pleasant ride in something like a 1200.

The box's I'm after are labeled as "Japan Automatic Transmission Co"
known as JATCO but not labeled as such.
There is usually an id tag screwed to the neutral start switch.
The model I need is a 3N71B. which is cast in the L/H side of the box.
There is a 3N71A which was the earlier model but these have inbuilt problems, so no go.
As well as the box's and converter's I will need the flex plates and the crankshaft spacers.
(only fitted to the auto's and fits between the crank and the flex plate) and if
possible all mounting bolts.
