And why bother with the flexi hose, when the "right" ones are available?

The flexis are not recommended because they introduce drag into the coolant flow.

I've never used them myself i've just seen them on the shelf and thought they might be suitable if the correct one could not be sourced. I now know better

ive tried the flexi hoses and dont recomend them highly, they dont bend on the right angle for the bottom hose, the top ones ok but not the bottom, particulalrly bad if you want to upgrade your radiator too.

fits perfect if you trim 1/2 an inch off it.

I noticed this with supercheap hoses too, on a 120Y.

why not use the flexi hoses and wire them out of the way? I've got the standard ones but with wire to keep them away from the alternator.

Just walk into supercheap or the like and if they dont have a 1200 hose buy a 120y radiator hose fits fine and fits perfect if you trim 1/2 an inch off it.

the 2 piece hose is kind of nice, the 310's have a ugly fitting coming out of the the engine with 2 outlets too close together and the heater bung is some wacky size i can never find the right hose for.

Yes, Nissan can still get them. Price is not bad.

The part numbers for the hoses are in the tech section article Parts Sources: Where to Get Parts for Datsun 1200s.

It also lists aftermarket part numbers and prices.Quote:
About $13 [USD] each from Nissan. About $8 each from others
Be aware that in USA we got a two-piece lower (because of the heater). Heater-less cars may have one-piece hose.
