You can sometimes machine them out and put bigger diameter replacement uni-joints in.

But it's normally cheaper and easier to take it to someone that has a barrel full of reconditioned joints or new stock, that can replace the broken joint, and rebalance the shaft for you. They'll normally use parts that are serviceable for the future.

I would avoid buying this sort of thing blindly off the net. Uni joints are hard to handle in a lathe, if you need to change the diameter for the shaft, you'd be in a lot of trouble.

Trucks are always breaking tailshafts, most towns/cities have a place that can recondition tailshafts. Call around, unless someone on here from your city can recommend a place.

And as you've broken the tailshaft more than once, I would look at seeing if you have a balance problem some place.

I've got a 1980 210, A14 with 4sd man. Front u-joint on the drive shaft is broke. I think the shaft is actually from a B210, because I had to replace the stock shaft for the same problem.

I would like to know how to actually get staked u-joints out. I know they are non-replaceable but I found this site that might have a solution
http://www.arizonadrivelines.com/u-joints_staked_type.htm

Will the 430-9's work, or am I out of luck.
