Thanks for that. My problem was no-one stocked the part number I needed. The so called cross over part didn't fix it.
I have eliminated this problem by swapping the whole dizzy.

I think the problem is an air leak. I'm in the throws of redoing all the suspect bits, and pressure testing the supercharger manifold to look for cracks.

I flagged away the dizzy, and put in onother one which is a known quantity.
Still run like a bag of arseholes, but I may know what is causing that now.

since you have had no luck with non gen parts, I would take the dizzy to your local nissan dealer and if it is not your original dizzy ( I am guessing it is not) try and get the engine number that it came out of.
Just had another thought is the dizzy out of an A series motor ? reason I ask is I used Honda parts for my dizzy apart from the body and shaft all the internals are the same as EB1/EB2 1200 civics

I spent the whole day tinkering with my new carb. I've got it to run so it's drivable. (sort of) It has a nasty tendancy to pop back and sputter. I'm going to swap the dizzy for another on tommorow, and see if that cures it. Apart form that, it goes hard when it bites.

I think on the dizzy body it should be stamped hitachi or mitsubishi, as this might help in finding the correct cap and rotor

Yeah, I did that. That lead was sweet as. When the spark lead from the coil is held next to the body, (an earth) there is a fat juicey spark. The problem was (is) the cap. The measurement from the shoulder which the cap seats against to the raised bit from which the carbon pin protrudes is further on the GH604. What I need is the mitsi part. I forget the number, buut it was something like XD92 or similar.
The dizzy Ive used is out of an A14 that was in my 1200 when I first bought it. Being that this car has had a rather checkered history, there's no way of knowing it's true origins.
But the parts book said that it's the cap off a b310 140Y.

have you checked the lead from the HVC to the dizzy? I had one go bad such that it made a tiny spark at the plugs, but looked ok to the eye. Check the resistance of the HVC lead - it should be very low but not so low that it can't be measured, nor should the resistance be infinite.
