Yeah, they are called GL over here too. The two most popular models in Pakistan are the Deluxe and GL. I think 70 - 74 model years. These are moslty used as Taxis nowadays. I bought mine for approx US$ 1000 back in 86 and can sell it now for more than 3 times as much.

I have another question. Has anyone installed aftermarket airconditioning in a B110?
I was thinking about it but dont know whether it is easily doable. I haven't met anyone here whose installed it. Any advice?

Ah, must be a GL model. GL means "Grand Luxury" and the newer ones (1972? and 1973) had a wood panel dash.

Yes, some USA cars had those too.

Remember the "new" 240Zs that Nissan sold about 5 years ago? Imagine if they did that for 1200s. I'd buy one at a new car price.

No.
It is a 1972 model year. But was imported (into Pakistan) in 1979 from Japan as a refurbished "like new".

It is the "sport" model, with disks up front & drums at the rear. fake wood paneling on the dash and strangely, a big clock in the instument panel where i've seen rpm meters in some of the other cars.

Hanoo, is your 79 B110 from South Africa? I heard they sold Sedans through 1975.

Thanks for your replies all.

B210guy: I'll go check the market in a few days to see if i can find ur parts.

ddgonzal: I have already started reading the articles. lets see what parts i can get from the market.

akinaspeedstar: This one is a '79 "reconditioned" import, so some parts are different from the original '72 e.g. it has disks up front which make for just OK stopping distances but good modulation.

unless you want to stick with a a12 i would recomend upgrading to a a15 motor, it make more power stock before you start moding it. remember that you should modify the whole car, brakes, suspension, rubber (tyres) ect. it also depends on what you want from the car as to what you want from it, i.e. daily driver, weekend racer, allout track car....

im asumeing that it is currently stock as a rock, so a brake upgrade would be a high priority. the b110s had crappy drums on the front and are rather scary when you start to drive a bit harder . look in the tech section for upgrades, it has been set up for new people like your self. i used it when i started and found it very helpfull.

Hi Hanoo, you can use parts off any Nissan a-type engine: A12, A13, A14 or A15. Distributors, carb, and transmissions swap, even if slightly different. See the "Tech Section" (there is a link on the left side of this page) for information on carburetor, distributor and transmissions.

A weber 32/36 or 38/38 on the stock manifold will help loads, and a newer 5 speed out of a 110 210 or 310 will work with out too much modifications. a distributor from a 210 w/ points will work also, or convert to electronic ignition, diff can be replaced fairly easy too. BTW, you said you have a "big market" for datsun parts, I'm looking for front and rear bumpers, and light, and rear taillites(round ones) for a 76 B210(120y) any help would be awesome!!! Maybe even factory tachometer...

Need help and advice.
I'm doing a major refurbishment work on my 1200. It has a stock B110 1172cc engine with stock hitachi carb.

The carb is bad and so is the distributor.

Gear box (4sp manual) and diff have bad whine.
Otherwise engine is strong.

What options have i to get some extra power, in terms of replacement of carb, distributor etc...?
Also any cure for the 'box and diff whine...?

I live in Karachi, Pakistan. We have a whole big market of used mechanical & body parts for datsuns, but am not sure what to get and what not to.
