with the 56a 5 speeds,i was always able to use the standard crossmember, though sometimes i'd space down the the crossmember to level the gearbox.as the 5 speed is supposedly original fitment from a b210,the standard crossmember will be the best go.with the 56a 5 speed, the minute you hear any bearing noise, get the bearings replaced,or it'll lock up the input shaft & destroy the cluster gear, etc. you realise it's a 1 to 1 fifth gear.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

Also, be sure to check the drive shaft alignment, or it will vibrate something fierce! An easy way to do it is with an angle finder, place it on the back of the trans, and on the flange of the diff, and make 'em the same!

Yes, transmission crossmember (what Nissan calls the rear engine crossmember) varies by year, model and auto vs. manual. For pictures of various xmembers, see: 5-speed article. Note that 4-speed and 5-speed mounts are generally identical (of same type, e.g. 4-speed 60 is same as 5-speed 60).
